The creation of the City of Florence ZTL Bus was in response to a need to protect the city, its environment and its unmatchable artistic and cultural patrimony in order to safeguard citizens in their daily lives and ensure the best experience for the tourists who come to visit from every corner of the world.
The ZTL Bus, differently from the ZTL Centro Storico that only includes the UNESCO World Heritage site, extends to the entire inhabited center of the city of Florence and is active every day of the year, 24 hours a day (00:00-24:00).
Access, circulation and parking of tourist buses within the city is permitted only if the bus is provided with a permit (purchasable exclusively online), or is entitled to exemption, and is subject to special regulation identified in the "urban traffic plan" whose regulations are set out in a specification.
